You can find Guba in Brazil under same name. Now Meltiadis may say that we are coming from Brzilians!!

The correct name is KOUPA and not GOUBA otherwise know as AGGOUROSPORO TOU PINGOU !!

LONG LIVE THE CYPRIOT ETHNOS !!

I hate it when people talk on behalf of others in Forums. Speak for yourself, Paphitis.

I refer you to my initial post.

PS. Glad your back. I love Paphos and the myth that people from there are a little backward is unfair.

And what evidence can you present to us that there are some Cypriots on this forum who do not embrace their unique Cypriot characteristics?

Guba is a phoenitic spelling, while 'Kouba' seems to be the way it's spelt (mostly) on the internet; a translitration, no doubt, of κουπα. I included it so others, not familiar with the phoenitic spelling convention would recognise the term. Either way, it's delicous and wholly Cypriot.

You see, thinking that Paphites are a little backward, then you may understand that people that live overseas and travel regularly might think that Cypriots as a whole might be backward as well.

Hopefully there might be less evidence now than before. Let's talk about Hallumin.

Some restaurants in London describe this as a Greek cheese. I think this is evidence of Cypriots not entirely happy to embrace the various and enriching elements of Cypriot heritage. Would you agree?

In case you missed my question...

I was not asking about whether people think Halloumi is a Greek or Cypriot cheese for heavens sake. I have heard it called a Greek cheese as well, but usually only by Australians. Greeks and Cypriots refer to it as Cypriot.

I ask you to present evidence of Cypriots not embracing their culture.

If you don't have any evidence then can we concur that this thread is a "LOAD OF BOLLOCKS" as the subject matter has absolutely no point whatsoever.

Jesus Paphiti! When you were off sulking, I was fighting Medusa half the night when I tried to claim Zeno and Aphroditi for the island.

Shall I rewrite this?

"If I can't agree with you then what you say is rubbish."

Sorry, I thought this was a Forum – for the exchange of views. Zeno would have had a field day with you!
