Since you denounce Hellenism, your ancestors must have been Ottoman from 1571. As for their balls they were so big they were touching the floor !!! :?

We’ll never know if their balls were touching the floor, but what we DO know is that they out-fucked about a dozen colonizers! Image

I am not worried about Zeno being claimed for Cyprus. :D He was Cypriot

Ebidelus!

I admit he wasn't Turkish Cypriot.... but I doubt he'd have called himself what you call yourself. It was before the 1960 constitution, O.

Oracle wrote: (You baptised him as Phoenician! ... when the only reference to him being so, was a throwaway insult by some Greek in Athens, because Zeno was darkish  ).

I suggest you go back to that library of yours and read up properly on Cyprus's famous thinker. Maybe spend some time studying his philosophy too.

Aphrodite is known to the world as a GREEK goddess, not a Cypriot one (again, as it happens, of Pheonician origin).

Zeno - Because back when he was born, Cyprus was regarded as a Greek island, and Zeno was born in Cyprus. Secondly, Zeno was taught Greek philosophy in Athens. So it seems that this is where the assumption lies. He was culturally, if not ethnically, Greek.

Aphrodite - The Cypriot religion was the Greek religion. So she was a Cypriot and Greek goddess. It was the same thing.

See, you seem to assume that the Cypriots and the rest of the Greeks are and always were separate, this is why your conclusions are slightly wide of the mark.

Very good !!
Greeks were considered those people that were educated in the Greek culture so it is not illogical to consider Zeno to be Greek after all. In addition it is not certain that he was of Phoenician extraction.

Yeah and he studied in Greece with all the Greek philosophers, after leaving a totally Hellenic Cyprus ... so that's why he is referred to as a Greek philosopher!

O, Citium was a Phoenician city. I studied with a lot of English people; and I'm no less a Cypriot.

Citium was principally Phoenician ... but not everyone living there was a Phoenician!

The fact Zeno chose to go to Greece suggests he viewed himself as Greek!

Well said !!

Put your pom-poms and ra-ra skirt away, Antries. Oracle needs help with her arguments, not a mindless cheerleader.

Oracle's arguments are solid and she/he does not need any help.
Besides we have been repeating ourselves for over 41 needless pages.
Now the discussion has been turned into the weight of each others balls and name calling .
Is this what we really want ?

So why are you cheering her on - if she doesn't need any help?

A, what we are having here is an incredibly valuable philosophical exchange. Zeno himself would be looking down and smiling at us.

And if Oracle is as clever as I think she is, then she'll know it too.

I apologise for calling you a cheerleader.... As for the balls. I'm not responsible for those.
