They will be placed next to the captured Czech tanks. They will look nice together. A reminder of Greek stupidity.

and Turkish aggression

In response to the Greek (Junta+Sampson) aggression!!

Which never targeted TCs and had no intention of ENOSIS.

The Turks were "officially" made aware of this fact.

Now, why am I glad you put 'officially' in quotation marks. Having read Nicos Sampson Memoires, one always wonders what they dont tell you We knew how much NSampson 'loved' the TC's Even not many GC's trusted him, never mind the TC's.

The quotation marks were a mistake! :(

Apparently all the gory details are in Kissinger's Memoirs. The US duly informed the Turks of Greek objectives which did not include attacking the GCs or declaring ENOSIS.

I will try and find it.

How true that is. You make a mistake on a mistake, now that is then true. You know, 2 negatives make a positive. If you seriously think that Samson was not going to harm TCs you need to be in an asylum, dear boy.

Jerry saved you the trouble last year. He posted a link with all the conversations. A fat good that would have been, publishing them 30 years after the fact. Do you really think that the general population would have been aware of these mutterings?

No but the Turkish Politicians and Army Generals that planned the invasion would have been aware.

Are you insinuating that Ioannides should have been aware of the Turkish double cross?

Besides Deniz, try telling the Americans that they should not have unsurped Makarios. They did engineer the whole thing and the Greeks and Cypriots were just pawns on a chessboard.

Why are there insinuations that Greece too was involved?
