Surveys about the Cyprus problem?

Postby Siuan » Mon Apr 06, 2009 7:41 pm

Hello, I'm writing a little papper about the Cyprus dispute and i was wondering if there exists any surveys on how many of turkcypriots and greekcypriots eventually wants the two sides to reunite?

I know that the "Annan-plan" didn't happen because the greekcypriots voted no, but that was just that plan.

Thanks in advance, Siuan

Only i can say Turkish Cypriots can say Yes again if the solution will be Bi-zonal ,Bi-communal .
As a Turkish cypriot i know only what majority of our people thinks.

Halil, u are a mere 18% of Cyprus population...don't confuse poor kid.

Siuan, the solution "ANAN PLAN" was created by a retard who didn't know the realities of Cyprus giving Turkish Cypriots basically everything and in return nothing to Greek Cypriots. The Greek Cypriot population was forced to vote NO due to unrealistic and totally insane reunification plan even tho most of the voters wanted a solution. Bi-Zonal, Bi-Communal will never happen... the problem in North now lies with settlers which Turkey brought to breed and multiply and the huge unproportional army which actually has 1 soldier per 4 people of north population.

Now you tell me how the lawfull 18% of population can claim almost 40% of an island, bring foreign army for "protection" and changing demographics so they themselves become a minority in their own "country".

Now dear Siuan, you may not know but there are many crossings now set up along the "border". Greek Cypriots actively trying to open more crossings...the latest issues was the Limnatis crossing. Turkish Army doesn't let it happen....Turkish Cypriot "government" is simply a puppet state ran by Turkey. My view as a naturalized Cypriot is that the minority should have all rights, but it all comes with a proportion of population. Republic of Cyprus is the only recognized government... so if 18% of population needs a solution then they should join the lawful government, they have all the right to have a big political party and i am sure they would. Cyprus always kept Turkish language official and still does so. The government issues Cypriot passport to any rightfull Turkish Cypriot because they have a right.

Siuan, just Turkey... :D If it wouldnt be for a Turkey, Talat would be sitting in the Cyprus Parliament with his headphones on - listening to a translation of a debate between Anastasiades and Karoyian

i always made up my decisions freely Deniz .... now election time in Northern Cyprus , my kids ,my wife are free to vote to whom they can vote .I never asked them ,what they will do and no one can ask me either . My observation is from the streets Deniz. In north no one excepts minority rights in here . many times you have seen poll results in north .what we are asking . what we are asking is putting on the table by Talat as well ... no need to repeat again and UN decisions for Cyprus solution is Bi-zonal, bi-communal federal solution but people are in here asking active and effective guarantees of Turkey. This is our side road map Deniz and we never hide what we want .
