I saw an olive tree in the courtyard which I instantly could see was of a very great age. On speaking to the cafe owner he confirmed it was in the region of 500 years old!
We have one in Polis which is ~ 750 years old. So craggy, gnarled and knotted; a wondrous work of nature ... and to think these trees knew Cyprus before the Otto -Turks.
(Oh to hear you recite the above in RP, dear bill c )
Almost as old you then !!
