In both side of the the island destroying trees and environment goes on .

Law does not apply only for English man ....applies for everybody .It is illegal to cut the trees without getting permission from the goverment even if the tree is in your house ... you need permission ... how those contactors are doing ...they are doing ... in both side of the island laws are funny .... Laws followers are does not care at all .

Go away Arch-destroyer and look after our Karpas donkeys, our Castles and monasteries, the Churches and the homes of the 200,000 GCs which you have illegally snatched.

The fact that the alleged offender is an Englishman is utterly irrelevant.
The English that moved to Stroumbi the Great some years back brought with them many benefits not least the tremendous increase of property and land , an increase that has benefited most if not all villages including my own immediate family. Their contribution to animal welfare has been marvelous , their natural love of the environment has greatly enhanced the general look of the village and encouraged the villagers to contribute towards making the village a well ordered , clean and "modern".
To the best of my knowledge the villagers enjoy an excellent relationship with the Brits , perhaps one reason the son of the Mouxtari requested the Police take no action. The fact that one tree has been cut down it does not alter the excellent rapport that exists between the locals and the Brits .

I never said anything about the English.

The man is a Brit ... Much like you! I immediately wondered why you have been so "quiet" of late

I see people in the UK fined heavilly for cutting down protected trees (in my village aswell). If this guy has cut down a protected tree he should be dealt with accordingly, no excuses !!

Halil, I began counting uprooted olive trees along thr Kyrenia coast going westawards. I gave up as it was too depressing. Bloody contractors. They breed like rats all over the island. Where is the goverment?

Most , if not all British residents in Stroumbi are English , very rarely if at all will you find a British Indian or a BritishPakistani a resident in Stroumbi although on a visit recently a Bangladeshi was serving coffee in the coffee shop adjacent to the petrol station !! He most certainly wasnt British !!
I see that Oracle is still a Plonker in every sense but I do hope with the approaching hot weather she might decide to have a shave and a clean-up !!

The article doesn't actually say it was the same man who who had earlier cut the branches from the apricot tree, in fact it gives the impression it was a different Brit.
