ENOSIS is dead?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

This is another ridiculous thread meant to divert. Obviously this is not what the church leader stated and take a look at what Palio stated above. Not only alive but they openly talk of union with Turkey. Their muftis talk of partition and TRNC all the time . Does any GC here ever start a thread about that? No, why? Because there are some boundaries that GCs dont cross. But why not? They like to ridicule our side and i mean consistently on just about anything and everything.

This is the quote in Turkish.

Was this an April Fool fingy or was it a serious comment by a cleric?

Deniz, the RoC has achieved a much better and more important “enosis,” which is that of “enosis” with the European Union as an equal sovereign member representing the entire territory of Cyprus. In this capacity, Cyprus, in the hands of the Greek Cypriots, has the capacity to veto Turkey’s EU accession process and give her the boot out of her European aspirations.

Now, Greece is also a member of the EU, and therefore Cyprus has achieved an indirect “enosis” with Greece as well. Greece has also a veto right against Turkey’s accession, but for her own reasons wants to allow Turkey’s EU accession to run smoothly. Therefore, for what reason on this planet would Cyprus want to cancel and lose its EU membership, as a separate and sovereign nation, and go and make “enosis” with Greece as one of its provinces, if Greece does not want or intent to give the boot to Turkey and veto its EU accession? Are we so stupid to loose such a privilege, together with all the other privileges we have as an EU member state, and go and become a province of Greece without any of the powers we currently enjoy? ENOSIS!!!

DT, why would you leave? Cyprus will always be Cyprus. Not that much would change anyway. We already have Greek flags everywhere, the Greek National Anthem, Greek troops etc etc. You probably wouldn't even notice a difference. :? Unless your waiting for Annan Plan revision 6 to come around.

halil, you haven't got a clue what you are talking about, so just remain in your umbrella 'state'. There are at least 950 Greek troops in Cyprus (some say there are a few thousand) and the head of the NG is a Greek citizen.

Whether you think it is a large number or not is irrelevant, you are still wrong.

Try facing a thousand armed men and saying to them "is that all".
