Talat ditches talks to meet Ban in Paris

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby utu » Thu Apr 02, 2009 10:32 pm

The attitudes of a number of the Greek Cypriots on this forum are getting really nasty. Some of you are clearly saying "no other option than total surrender in the north!" Well, I don't like the partition any more than you, but I'm not one to support that attitude! Some of you folk give me the clear impression that you'd like to do nothing better than - after the fall of the Green Line - to go in with your rifles and shotguns in order to settle old scores with any person bearing a Turkish surname.
I've got a real breaking news item for you people: Turkish Cypriots are human beings, and if you start treating them like human beings, maybe you'll make more progress. Fear and hate is keeping the partition going, and that cycle has to be broken... Period!

utu without full control of the whole island and TCs as just a minority under GC dominance they will never agree a solution.

As much as I hate to say it, I'm in agreement here. That AP was a chance to see if compromise could work. So much for that ideal.

Utu, you are fooled by the propaganda. There has been a policy of de-Turkification of Cyprus, since 1960. The TC lands are much more than GC say. Are we to let the land of the TCs who left Cyprus to the GCs. Both parties know how much TC land there is, the trouble is the GC politicians have not prepared their population for peace. They just use the same old propaganda, but it has come to the end of the road.

Things will only get worst for TCs. These losers are good in nothing except from stealing, and criminal activities in their "casinos". And now we will win the Orams case it will be harder for them to make profits from stealing. Then a smart move from us is to open a real casino and totally ruin them

Tell me winner boy what are you good for exactly? What makes you a very special person? is it your greek heritage?

We are civilized people and we can progress even under the worst circumstances. What we managed to do after the invasion is called a miracle by many. You are only good in stealing what belongs to others. You survive by stealing and begging. You sell stolen properties and Turkey gives to you some of the money that they get from World Bank and the IMF. Bunch of beggars!

You'd better not start bandying around land percentages. THAT cause a lot of acrimonious debate, name calling, and - in one case - attempted blackmail.

What surrender of north? The north belongs us just as much as south does. It is Turkey which invaded us and wants us to surrender our land to them. Turkish Cypriots are a minority like our Greek minority in Turkey or like the Kurdish minority in Turkey. Is our Greek minority in Turkey less humans than the Turkish minority in Cyprus?

Blackmail is Turkey occupying our land and trying to blackmail us in this way to accept their demands.

The amount of money laundering that went on in the south, the amount that was transferred from serbia to cyprus when there was UN sanctions on it for war crimes is one of the reasons your economy developed so much. If you think any of that is noble or proof of you being civilised than you really live in a dream world.

But sotos, do tell me how you are better than me, what makes me an animal and you civilised?

Look who is talking about War Crimes and UN! You forget your war crimes in Cyprus and that you do not obey UN resolutions? About you and me the difference is that I am a law obeying Cyprus and EU citizen and you support stealing of lands, human rights violations and many other illegalities.

There are two reasons Turkan. Because you invaded Cyprus first in 1571 and then again in 1974. That is why!
