Christofias will regret starting direct negotiations as the Turkish side has put nothing on the table. All we see in these negotiations are Turkish maximilist positions that frankly go beyond the provisions of the AP. These direct talks have also elevated Talat so trips like the one talked above were inevitable. The Turkish primary goal here is to collapse the talks and claim reunification is not possible. Then ask the UN, to once again, fill in the gaps resulting in a similar plan that was rejected by the GCs. Its so obvious.

Since 1974, there has been many negotiations, and I think we all agree now that each time they fail, then the offer next time is a little worse than previous. This is the last time. There will be no next time, and we will end up keeping 37%, and sooner or later, there will be trade between the TRNC and EU.

we're scared....so scared. Bare in mind that if talatas doesn't get his head in gear our occupied towns will turn into shanty towns in the space of 5 years. You will be deserted and forgotten by the world.

Always doom and gloom stories, anything is better than being forced into a bad solution as a minority in a GC state run by GCs.

Banging my head here. Isnt it obvious?

Would TPAP had fallen for this?

I don't think that question is really worth asking. Tassos Papadopoulous was derided by much of the international community for reneging on pledges to them by his openly opposing the Annan Plan and calling upon his constituents to reject it. That plan wasn't great, but it was certainly better than the staus quo. Now the mood north of the Green Line has soured because of the continued isolation (after their support of the AP) and the probable result of that is that there is going to be no more moves for reconciliation... Lose-Lose all the way round.

you agree with this doom and gloom?

Why exactly will we have shanty towns in the future bright spark? Is it because you are going to shut the borders on us? And what happens after we get your proposed 'shanty towns', will we come and plead to you for help and then be forced to accept a plan of your liking? Or even better yet a full surrender? Do you seriously have any clue how retarded you sound?
