Review: Greece's Contributions to Resolving the CyProb ...

Postby Oracle » Thu Apr 02, 2009 2:15 pm

Since a number of people hold Greece directly responsible for placing Cyprus in the position which led to the Turkish invasion, and concomitant continuing Turkish occupation .... It's only right, to now expect Greece to help regain Freedom for Cyprus.

Let's total up what precisely Greece has done over the last 35 years, and is currently doing, towards a resolution of the CyProb.

.... and perhaps convince Get Real! of how wrong he is:

Greece did moiblise her forces, thus spreading the fear of God among the Turkish Military. There was the danger of loosing Thrace and Adrianople/Edirne initially.

Also they sent a few troop transporters, which met with NG anti-aircraft fire.

Thats for starters.

Hellenic Navy Ship Lesbos also landed in Paphos bringing to Cyprus vitally needed troops.

When the TAF received intelligence of Hellenic Naval movements within the region and due to some crafty radio transmissions of Hellenic Naval Radio Comms, the TAF misidentified the Kocatep as a Hellenic Naval Vessel and sank her. Another 2 Turkish Naval Destroyers were damaged.

Hearing so many Greek words in the western country you live in must be overwhelming for you, but you should know that some of them have multiple meanings

There is no double meaning, Lesbos island gave the word Lesbian to the world on account of a lesbian poet who was lesbian and lived on that island.
