Let's total up what precisely Greece has done over the last 35 years, and is currently doing, towards a resolution of the CyProb.

.... and perhaps convince Get Real! of how wrong he is:

Greek President outlines views on Cyprus question

June 25, 2009

Greek President Karolos Papoulias has stressed that the Cyprus problem is a problem of invasion and illegal occupation of part of a sovereign state, member of the UN and the European Union.

“The principles of international law, territorial integrity and sovereignty, provide the legal framework in the relations between states and help resolve problems such as Cyprus question, which is a problem of invasion and illegal occupation of part of a sovereign state, member of the UN and the European Union,” said Papoulias in a speech at an official diner hosted by Syrian President Bashar al-Asad in his honour, during his visit to Damascus.

Referring to the peace process in the Middle East, Papoulias said that true peace in the region cannot be achieved unless all parties respect Security Council resolutions and restore the occupied Syrian Golan to Syria.

Furthermore Papoulias stressed the continuous support of Greece for EU-Syria relations through the signing of an Association Agreement as soon as possible.

Cyprus has been divided since 1974, when Turkish troops invaded and occupied 37% of its territory. Turkey, which aspires to become an EU member, does not recognise the Republic of Cyprus, an EU member since May 2004.

No faith! 8) ... But, make them respect us and our influence. Obligate them to view us as the political power with whom they have to deal to safeguard their economic future.

I can see Greece, with sister Cyprus, becoming the darlings of the EU as the major power-sources, making the Mediterranean the Centre of the World ... again! 8)

Vietnam looks for UN solution in Cyprus

FAMAGUSTA GAZETTE 23.JUN.09

Vietnamese deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Phan Gia Khiem, on an official visit to Greece, has said that the Cyprus issue must be resolved within the framework of the UN.

Speaking after a meeting with Greek Foreign Minister Dora Bakoyiannis, Khiem expressed the strong interest of his country in the question of Cyprus, adding that his government shares the concerns of Greece on the matter.

«We believe that the Cyprus issue must be resolved within the framework of the United Nations and we respect UN resolutions», he said.

Bakoyiannis said she had an interesting discussion with Khiem, which covered a wide range of bilateral, regional and international issues as well as the international financial recession.

She added that among the topics discussed were the issue of the name of the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Greco-Turkish relations, and illegal immigration.

Bakoyiannis also said that they would discuss the Cyprus issue as well as the initiatives taken by the Greek presidency of the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), during an official dinner.
