Cyprus was part of the Byzantine Empire before the Ottomans, Venetians and Lusignans.

The Byzantine Empire eh? Hail Ceasar! 8)

You can't get any more Hellenic than that...

We have been through this many times and by now you would have though that being Greek has nothing to do with an exclusive blood line but is related to the the predominant religion, language and custom. And since the Byzantyne Empire was predominantly inhabited by Byzantine Greeks or the Orthodox faith then you can appreciate the fact that the Byzantine Empire was merely an offshoot of the Roman Empire and was as Hellenistic as souvlaki and the Cypriot National Anthem...

 Oh I forgot… “Hellenism” embraces the whole world!

I’m starting to suspect that deep down inside “Hellenism” actually means “Homosexualism” because that’s the only way I can justify Greek claims that they exist everywhere!

I was told that Homosexuality is on the increase in Cyprus, or it could be that Cypriots that are Homosexual finally grew the balls to come out, unlike the Cypriots of 1821...

Even though you are right about bloodlines Paphitis, one must not forget that there is genetic evidence of the similarity between Greeks and Cypriots along with other areas where the Greek diaspora existed. Something which GR conveniently ignores.
