The cracking door with ungreased hinges in my office could produce better sound than most of Eurovision contestants !

They are trying to make up for what they lack in musical talents by stage acrobatics, plain and simple.

Save for Abba and France Gall none of the winners have survived the test of time.

Celine Dion?

You can't get anything past Eurovision VP  Its his life!!!

Facts, its one of the biggest musical events in the world.

This is VP thinking he matters in European events because Turkey represents him ....

Sorry for forgetting Celine Dion.

Granted that Celine has been a true Diva with her song "Pour Que Tu M'aimes Encore", but as far as I know, she is a French-Canadian therefore less "Euro" than either Abba group members or France Gall.

The same dosage is fine by me. That's not what happened as far as the third party is concerned which is why the matter was referred to and had to be dealt with by Admin.

Byron wrote:I was under the impression that this forum represented an opportunity for people to exchange ideas. Just because I may agree with VP on a particular point does not mean that we are entirely in agreement on all issues. Or are you only interested in people who share your point of view ? If that is the case then this forum is totally biased and a complete waste of time and goes against the whole principle of friendship and respect between Greek and Turk.

What about Cypriots on this Forum, who consider themselves neither Greek or Turkish, but who wish to exchange ideas? Or people on this Forum with Cypriot affinities who are neither Greek or Turkish, but who wish to exchange ideas? This is not very friendly or respectful on a 'Cyprus Forum'.

Byron wrote:We look forward to receiving your apology.

You will be disappointed to learn then that I am not planning to apologise.

I was expecting your type of reply, so it is not a dissapointment to me. As to the term Cypriot, it was duly covered by me, Greek Cypriot is someone whose main language and culture is GREEK and a Turkish Cypriot is some one whose main language and culture is Turkish. Even so, I respect the opinion of everyone including so called Cypriots.

Toto Cutugno, Cliff Richard are fine as they have kept on their musical performance long time after Eurovision. Same can be said for Patricia Kaas and Anna Visi who are more recent singers. However, other than "To Sir With Love" motion picture as the lead singer for the score, I am not so sure whether Lulu has done equally well. I don't know about Sandy Shaw. As far as Sertab Erener is concerned, she has got a lot to envy the performers of the 60s.
In short, maybe I should have said Eurovision no more has the touch and the feeling of the 1960s-70s era anymore. It is getting increasingly tasteless !

Thanks for the reminder mate.

Here as promised is a 90's Sandie Shaw, with her shoes on, in a collaboration with the Smiths (of near Manchester fame). I think it's rather good.

Warning - Our Sandie does take off some of her clothing in this....

With millions and millions of viewers all over the world I dont think they to concerned about what you think. Tatu, Dima Bilan 1960? dont think you know your music. In short its a massive organisation and gives each country 3 minutes to convey musically pretty much what ever they wish, some people will hate it some will say they dont follow it but know exactly what goes on and millions of people are fans.
