“Hellenism” - the greatest mythology of them all!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Insan, you are right, the FYROM language is a Slavic one, thanks for posting it. That is further proof of what we are saying. The ancient Macedonians certainly did not speak that language. I think you are confusing yourself

Oracle, I knew this would happen. Because once the Turks began noticing that GR is heavily losing the argument, they were inevitably all going to jump in to post their own propaganda from biased sources. It can only be put down to petty jealousy, because their own history doesn't even compare. It is well known that FYROM propaganda is often funded by Turkish sources.

GR don't you ever question whether you are on the right side of the argument, when your only supporters are the very people you want to go to war with?

Yes, now we are getting somewhere. Slavs arrived in the area in the 6th century AD, so they could not have been speaking ancient Macedonian (whatever that was).

And I repeat, give us a sample of this ancient Macedonian language, anything, even a swear word.

The Cyrilic alphabet that the Macedonian language uses, was developed by the Macedonian brothers from Solun (Salonica), St.Cyril and St.Methodius (Sveti Kiril i Metodij), in the IX-th century

The Bulgarians have the right idea. THey recognise the country as Macedonia but refuse the existence of any Macedonian ethnicity. They give any "Macedonian" who asks a Bulgarian passport.

The FYROM authorities figure that about a third of all "Macedonians" now hold Bulgarian passports. Considering that they speak Bulgarian (the language is a Bulgarian dialect with very few diversions from regular Bulgarian) the trend is heading towards assimilation via naturalisation.

The knuckle headed leaders of FYROM do not see this trend. Instead they are trying to prove that Alexander the great was from FYROM! Amoeba diplomacy at its best!

Never mind he evolution of the language. Show us a sample phrase of ancient Macedonian. We want to see the real thing.
