This is very sad. I think becoming vegan and not using any animal products like furs and skins is probably the most humane thing to do. But how many people can do that? I think humans are the most cruel animals on this planet!

I don't agree with this practice, but it is the way some people have made a living for many years. It is difficult to stop this without providing some other way for these people to earn a crust.

Our practice of catching ambelopoulia is a similar problem, although it is not as brutal (IMHO), and at least it is for food, not shoes and perfume.
