Title deeds issue

Postby Free Spirit » Fri Mar 27, 2009 10:58 am

The CPAG has finaly woken up to the best way to get action started over the title deed fiasco; they intend to take it up with the EU MEPs.
The UE is looking into similar issues regarding bad practices in Spain's construction industry.
I advocated this route last year and was told Cyprus would ignore any such intervention (as if; when the grants dried up).

We got title deeds for some property this January after waiting for some years. I think the reason they delay is that they check everything too thoroughly and not everything is in databases yet so they have to deal with files the old fashion way. I think they should invest more money to put everything in databases and that should solve the problem.

Sotos,

Don't blame computers (or the lack of them), the problem is civil servants being afraid to OK anything! Not that it matters if they get something wrong, they will never get the sack!

Maybe they are afraid because there are many files and they are not sure if they have all the info. If they had everything in a database then if some information was wrong they could blame those that made the data input ;)
