I love the way every GC considers themselves an expert on every issue turkey has. Honour killing is nearly 100% a sunni kurdish phenomenon in turkey and one confined to the extreme SE at that. You will almost never hear of an alevi kurd being the victim of honour killing from say maras or sivas. Go to Batman and its a whole different story. Across turkey and europe there are numerous organistions dealing with this such as
http://www.kwrw.org/, even the european parliament urged turkeys lawmakers to visit areas in the SE to deal with this problem
http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/europe/4546992.stm . The problem is not confined to turkey either, within europe these kurdish immigrant groups leave very very secluded and isolated lives within their communities and honour killings are reported every couple of months in germany, europe and every now and then in london. As the girls are muslim its understandbly put down to a muslim tradition within these countries, and i suppose the concept of honour in islam plays a role in how this culture developed but you will almost never see it among persians in europe, turks or even arabs.
