Hey guys an idea just struct me and i want to share it with you guys and tell me what you think.
Wouldnt it be a nice idea to form a web page in which we will start by listing the whole Annan Plan and will be gradually edited by anyone loging in, similar to how wikipedia works. So for example if a gc goes and changes the properties provision to what he thinks will satisfy the majority of gcs then a tc can go back and change it accordingly so that it also satisfies the majority of tcs and this in my opinion at the end will form a provision acceptable by both sides.
This just struct me though and i havent thought about it too much so excuse me if some of you think its a crappy one.

I think it's a good idea. Even better idea would be the following: We put the Annan plan on the web and someone proposes one part of the plan that needs to change. Then, we discuss what the change would be and we agree on the change and it gets changed. That way we end up having a plan that mostly everyone agrees.

I thought about that too but wouldnt it be better if anyone could change it and not just forum members? Offcourse there should be some control over it somehow but i think its better for all cypriots that dont participate in the forum to also have a say.Afterall the active members of Cyprus Forum do not really represent all Cypriots.
For example there can be a mechanism in which every time someone changes something its first send as a request and if its approved by a comitee represented by both sides then the change would be posted.
Ofcourse there still a problem of getting irritating approving even the slightest change but hey any ideas are welcome :)

Actually aspects of my suggestion are allready tried here:

What would probably be more useful is to break the plan down into its component sections and then have the opportunity to propose alternatives to each fragment of the plan, rather than to attempt to do so for the entire document (which is huge!)

Obviously, there would have to be editing controls on this, as I'm sure you'd get the ubiquitous "rejected" comments and general rubbish being posted. Ultimately, if it was broken down in this manner, and serious suggestions were made on amendments, they could be collated and the linking elements pulled out.

Website is a good idea, particularly since we have some very techie webby's on here...

Members of The Forum

Four out of six nominees now Moderators? PLUS one nominator.

Thanks again Mr cannedmoose for you excellent but, unfortunately, untimely suggestion. Some ideas come too soon.

However, clearly, Mr cannedmoose you are now an honourary Cypriot.

Many congratulations.
