If major powers such as US asks Turkey to retain Talat in power for any purpose and Turkey agrees with US; be sure not only Turkey but all US sponsored NGOs on both sides of the island would begin propogating, creating impressions in favour of Talat etc to keep him in power. I agree that Talat is a softy, a discreeted leader like most of the other leftists but these have almost no direct effect of solving the problem.
Being a softy and discreeted leader provide only the avoidance of creating tensions on concerned parties. Nothing else. The rest is talk and talk for hours drink coffees, eat meals... that's all. U know why? Put aside all other aspects of Cyprus problem or consider them as solved; the core of the problem that caused all others as a consequence is political equality of 2 communities on legislative and judicial bodies.
