Umit, cut out the alcohol - or at least reduce your intake. Hard I know with so many good Aussie wines, but believe me it will be worth it once you start to lose the kg's!

Hi there Bubbles, I need some pointer for healthy yet simple to make food. I am pretty good in the kitchen but I don't have the time to be messing around with food too much.

Check out www.slimmingworld.com you'll get a weeks menu ideas (free), that are delicious, simple and don't leave you starving :D and you'll still have friends at the end of the week, unlike those who eat cabbage soup for a week   :P

The cabbage soup is the kick start of a healthy long term diet. On Monday I weighed myself 153.75 kilos. I would like to loose at least 20 kilos by the end of the year.

I have memories of the cabbage diet (mostly the smell around the house, every time the lid came off the pot  ).

Hubby did it about three years ago and he lost several kilos in the space of a few weeks, and as you say it is the kick start some need to get going. He's managed to keep all the weight off, and lost a bit more after resuming a normal diet.

You're allowed protein with it, and I used to put a tin of tuna (opened :D ) into his evening bowl of soup.

If you're past the first three days don't stop now! .... have a banana and a walk instead

I've almost finished all my boxes of Loukoumia, to start dieting on Monday (and since I'm not in Cyprus at the mo. I shall not be able to get any more) ....

Is 'olives' some bit of slang that I don't know about?

Elies/elyes, no.

Everyday I have olives, cheese (halloumi, feta/tulum, Roquefort) tomatoes and Cyprus bread + yogurt (Pittas). A variety of meze's everyday. Main meal in the evenings.

No hidden message and cetainly no junk food or kebab.
