I will cut out food completely and survive just on 10 pints of KEO a day.

Actual weights do not have to be divulged ... just how much we would like to lose. But it's not a girls only venture since insan is wavering joining (although he looks fine to me  ).

But you've already gloated about being skinny, so you probably don't have a clue about the phenomenon of yo-yo-ing ... although looking at you right now, I think you could do with some toning-up!

I will be the first to divulge that I wish to lose a moderate 3-4Kgs. That should place me within my optimum BMI index.

I have already drastically changed my diet. I predominately eat a variety of seafood and salads. I eat meat once a week.

Whilst home, my eating habits are quite good. The problem is when I go away and eat at hotels. I often can't resist a good juicy T-Bone (Medium Rare).

Whilst home I make good progress under the watchful eye of my nutritionist boss (wife), but when away it generally all falls by the wayside. Off again tomorrow, so will have more work to do when I get back. A sad case of 2 steps forward 2 steps back. At least I am stable.

I don't know if you are a vegetarian or not, but if you are not then try changing your diet to seafood. It tastes good and it is very healthy.

I wish you a quick recovery. :)

Well I am about to embark on a diet and fitness regime, and I want some inspiration from anybody out there who wants to do the same. 8)

Obviously we need a little planning :D ( not stalling!). Feel free to modify any suggestions so that we can make a happy concerted group effort.

I propose we aim to Start next Monday, giving us long enough to clear the cupboards and switch to healthier food; as well as allowing forumers time to make their minds up about joining.

Focus on how much weight you'd like to lose; which you must declare in advance.

Then every day, we post, honestly, what and how much we ate, and the amount of exercise we took. This way we share healthy eating/exercise tips. :D

Then once a week we declare how much weight we have lost (or gained ... for those who want to just muscle up!).

Are you with me? :D Who is brave enough to get fitter on the forum?

I'm in, I have put loads of weight on since moving to Cyprus :( always easier to lose with group support!(can you tell I used to go to Slimming World) I'm not sure about posting how much we ate though, could get a bit boring for everyone else to read! Ideas of healthy meals perhaps, and if you've had a good loss one week how you managed it?
My aim is to lose 14lbs by Monday May 11th, roll on Monday

So Paphitis recommendes the 'Sea food diet'; I know - whenever you see food and eat it ;-)

That's great ... the less you have to lose, the longer it takes, so hopefully you'll struggle with the grams, as we surge forward with rapid weight loss

Insan says he has 5 - 6 Kg to lose, so you two can buddy-up a bit for extra encouragement ... although you sound in perfect control/under "boss" management. :D

Vegetarian food is notoriously calorific and that is a part of my problem. But when I embark on a diet I eat salmon because it is one of the most nutritious fish ... but I hate the smell so much, I cook it in foil with bunches of herbs, sliced tomato and lots of turmeric as it neutralises the smell a bit.

Did you know that turmeric has been shown to reduce senile dementia?

(Note to self .... tell Miltiades!)

Tell me about Cyprus for weight gain  It's like one massive cake shop!

You're right about the boring list of foods ... maybe we could just post a recipe to something healthy. If it helps we could confess when we've erred ....although I get competitive about how much I can over-eat sometimes so that may not help :?

That's very disciplined to set a target ... a special date perhaps?

If I lose 3-4Kgs it will only just place me within the healthy BMI range. Still a hard goal to achieve though. But seafood does make me feel much lighter and healthier.

There are many things you could do with seafood. I generally buy a big Red Snapper Whole fish (up to 20Kgs) and have it cut into fillets. I either cook it in the oven covered in lemon juice, oregano. I also grill them in foil with lemon and oregano. I accompany it with salad and olives. You are only limited by your imagination.

You could also try getting some King Prawns, Oysters (eat them natural), red crab, and white bait (although these are fried).

Also for lunch, try eating some thinly sliced raw smoked Salmon in wholegrain bread with lettuce and anything else you like. Salmon is a very smelly fish, but Red Snapper is very fleshy white meat and tastes great. You can use a variety of marinates to also add extra flavor.

Another favorite is Octopus cut into small pieces and marinated in an olive oil and balsamic mix, with garlic and oregano. This should be cooked on a charcoal weber.

As for my wife, she only thinks she is in control. I was the one that actually got her hooked on sea food. Before she met me, she had never eaten an oyster. She was disgusted by the mere sight of them initially. Now she has gone all crazy and is trying to cut out all my red meat intake...

I would rather become obese if I have to buddy up with Insan...

So how many Kilos do you need to lose?

Exercise and CF are diametrically opposite ideas I am afraid. Since joining the forum and the 'miniscule' time I spend on it, my wieght is becoming too much for my skinny legs. If you need to lose weight, then, option one is, give up the CF - or any other forum.

Me? I will pass away happy.
