Minister hits back over airport land claim

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby gabaston » Thu Jun 09, 2005 2:54 am

this is just my opinion but

i think gc fears are based on the idea that a recognised trnc will mean a turkish state. Wrong - trnc and turkey will have very close ties naturally, but trnc will not be a puppet of turkey. Turkey has enough on her plate without having to master trnc. Turkey only wants to see tcs living safely in a tc controlled sector/zone/state. Turkey has no desire to control all of cyprus. Like one poster said dealing with a million gcs on a daily basis would be the nightmare of nightmares.

just my opinion folks

gabaston

also my own opinion

politically a TRNC means GC political leaders lose power.

GC people will be angry because they were removed by force from their homeland and TCs will be more like Turks to generations to come than ever.

a recognized TRNC would mean more independence for TCs the same way Greek and GC ties are today. however as long as TUrkey supports TCs they are the puppet masters.

So, as long as your father supports you even whilw you are over 18; you are a puppet of the master.

Man, it depends on the relations of your father and you. (Ps:Like the relations of GC admin and Greek government)

Ps2: There are plenty of recognized countries that are pure satelites of super powers.

Guess why...

A question of power and to be in a "secure" alliance...

Global and regional super powers are the masters.
One way or another; the rest of the countries are under their control, economically, politically and militarily.

recognition of TRNC can occur without the roc doing anything.

both of the above cannot occur wihtout the puppet masters wishes so the analogy is faulty.

I think puppet master is a little wrong. I accept Turkey have great impact on TC. But be sure TC have much impact on Turkey politics too. Look to Denktas, Turkey get rid of him, with the help of TC. So I dont think we are puppet master. But I accept TC only depend on us. Because they have nothing(except us) they can depend.

There is a myth about superpowers and their satelites.No-one can be a superpower when it cannot backup it's military power economically and technologically.

Remember USSR collapsed because it could not sustain the armaments built up.
USAs full budget of their Ministry of Defence adds up to their already huge external dept each and every consequitive year. Guess what will happen in the end.

Its nutter time again-

The sad thing about this prank is that if it were a cross border (tc on gc side or gc on tc side) type of thing, it could develop into a serious incident.

NICOSIA (Reuters) - Cyprus international airport operations were disrupted when a man drove a car under parked planes and forced on taxing airliner to change course to avoid a collision, authorities said.
A chase to catch the driver, identified as a 30-year-old Greek, disrupted airport traffic on Wednesday night.
Control tower workers raised the alarm after seeing a car speeding under parked aircraft at Larnaca airport on Cyprus's southeast coast.
A Cyprus Airways jet which had just landed had to change course to avoid collision. "The car was heading straight for us," the pilot said.

Apparently this bloke was escaping from a biscuit-shop job.
