The bankrupt policy of ‘all or nothing’

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Sotos » Sat Mar 21, 2009 12:28 pm

We didn't invade Cyprus. We came to Cyprus peacefully 1000s of years ago and made our own cities here. We didn't kill or oppress anybody else. Just because you are foreign invaders this doesn't mean everybody is.

Coming from a Greek whose ancestors invaded from India to Egypt that’s almost funny.

It would be funny if we asked for our minority in Egypt to be "equal partners" just because we ruled Egypt for some centuries. But we don't ask for such things. Our relationship with Egypt and India are very good. But you think that just because the Ottomans ruled Cyprus for some centuries that your minority here should have some higher status than other minorities in other countries

If you GCs continue with that mentality, we are sure to become two countries. TCs will chose to live with you or not. You will have no say in what TC do. If in the next vote they chose not to live in a united Cyprus, there is nothing you will be able to do about it. Isolation will go sooner or later. I suspect sooner than later.
Sotos, for the past 25 years I wished for peace and attended any meeting I could to promote it. I named my son Baris (Peace) 21 years ago. If GCs started the peace thoughts 21 years ago instead of trying to crush TRNC, we would have had peace by now.

Peace is very easy to come if you give us our land and human rights back. If you don't then peace will never come. Very simple.

It's peace first and then your rights sotos. It was like this before 1974 but Makarios could not agree to the peace deal Klerides reached with Denktash. We wanted all and being just minnows, we lost almost everything, eventually. You could argue that this will happen to Turkey but you will not find many fools to believe you. In the meantime, we will heroiclally lose out for good, because heroism is not productive when not matched by deeds.

Until I see you brandishing a gun and fighting for your rights I will consider you a fake, for arm chair patriots are very easy to come by. Unless you expect to get your rights back through your cyber heroism, hiding behind screens and nicks.

If they don't want to live with us they can move on and live in another country. You will have to give back our lands and rights or you will be isolated for the coming 50 years.

I bet the TC isolation won't last more than 1 or 2 years. Either u will genuinely accept the political equality of 2 communities and rest of the realities which mainly Greece is responsible of or inevitably u will face with agreed or forced partition.
