I bet if it was the flag of the "Republic of Cyprus" you won't think it's stupid. The only stupid thing is that they use Atatürk's message "Ne Mutlu Türküm Diyene" (How happy is he/she who calls himself/herself a Turk) When they could of wrote a more useful message by Atatürk, e.g Turkey's Motto: Yurtta Sulh, Cihanda Sulh (Peace at Home, Peace in the World)
Yes we would think it is stupid.
There is a time and a place for a flag and it is not defacing mountainsides, 24/7 ....
BTW even the second quote by Ataturk would be offensive as his message was loaded, and since he was such an evil person, anything he said is questionable, and we do not wish to be associated with megalomaniacs ...
Well, it is the biggest mountain flag of the world (as far as i know) and if the cypriot problem would be solves, i would be against the flag being taken down. It is a historic sight (though the lamps should go down)
Oh, and i don't want to be a "parrot" but Ataturk was a great man...you only know the propaganda story of him. You should read about a person before judging!!!!
