Derogations

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Derogations

Postby boulio » Thu Mar 12, 2009 4:12 pm

I was reading today that in the chapter of EU, BETWEEN Talat and Christofias that the t/c side request permanent derogations concerning the basic four freedoms of the EU.

Christofias stateted that derogations can be temporary at best also the the european parliment in its yearly report on turkeys ascesion also mention derogations but as "temporary transitional derogations".

My question is if t/c want to join the eu why cant the adopt there beliefs?Even in case of a solution the still will be the political power in the northern state.

the temporary derogations where not going to be mentioned either had the govt got its act together with our EMP's.

The Euro MP's had managed to convince the EPP to vote against the Green parties vote until the Chairman asked them why they are voting against it when the permanent representative office of the govt of Cyprus came out in support of it.

Thus we have temporary derogations.

 The Turkish Cypriots are a very simple people with a very simple concept…

“Let’s grab as much as we possibly can from the RoC and have it internationally locked (recognized) under our name!”

…so don’t ask them complicated questions right now. They’ll figure all that out later! 8)

I think the ROC for a solutions sake would go with temporary derogations but to a point.3-5 years maybe and absolutly not tied to turkeys ascesion to the EU.

But to demand permanent is ridiculous

I can make a guess as to what the 4 freedoms are. Anyone got a quick link to them?

You are right Oracle. Derogation from EU laws, derogation from human rights, derogation from democracy, derogation from civilization.
