Here they are the four EU freedoms:-

The free movement of goods;

The free movement of persons (and citizenship), including free movement of workers, and freedom of establishment;

The free movement of services;

The free movement of capital.

Read the second one our tnct sympathisers. Read it and weep.

Was all this lovely freedom available to all as soon as they joined, or was there a time lag.

Back to your Gasha.

Insan

its not tpap's dream,but the reality of the EU and most normal countries for that matter.

Yfred

There probably be a time period before the basic four freedoms are applyed to the northern section of the island in a future solution.

I believe that as a general rule the EU does not allow permanent derogations, the only exception was made in the case of Malta regarding the purchase of second homes. With this in mind I believe that the TCs would have to make significant concessions to the ROC in order to gain acceptance of permanent derogation of freedom of movement. I suppose the ROC could ask for permanent restrictions of mainland Turks settling anywhere on the island.

These are the freedoms that exist between separate independent countries within EU.

The Turks not only want partition, but they want one where native Cypriots will have less rights in the occupied areas of their own country, than they have in Finland, Portugal or any other EU country.

But it was TPAP's dream from early 1990's till his death. In mid 1800s it was megali idea until mid 1900s. Megali Idea died self-determination right was switched on in mid 1950s. Self-determination-right was semi-killed(by TCs :wink: ); after mid-90s, the national cause of Hellenes based on "European Solution". Enjoy it till it's death. :D
