A few Euros Bill , what £240 quid !!!
May I also remind you that Cyprus Airways IS NOT a national carrier , its a Limited company !!

Sure this is a result of the parity euro/sterling. CyAir fares quoted in Euros and then converted?

NO , in the UK CY fares are quoted in Sterling .
I have now noticed that the cost has come down to £214.00 still £64.00 more than BA .

I don't know how it is down now, but many years ago fares were calculeted using FCU's (Fare Construction Units) which were a ficticious currency, and then converted in whatever currency the ticket was going to be paid with at an agreed exchange rate. I am talking some 35 years ago, so it is probably completely different now.

Just got back from the UK about 3 weeks ago and I was never soooo shocked in my life before

I used to work at stansted airport for the firm who handle CY airways, so all the check-in staff no me.
Whenever I go back I always fly CY airways, but not anymore!!

I had a little excess luggage this time. 18kgs and was charged £101.00 for the pleasure. The check-in agent and I were friends when I was there and they still charged me. Its not that they charged me its the amount.

If I had flown BA I could have got an extra bag, booked on-line with BA for £24, up to 23kgs.
CY airways will soon go out of business if they carry on with this practise.

I will never fly CY airways again.

Paying £240 more for the two of us isn't exactly peanuts its more like 24 bottles of good Claret wine!!
I'm actually quite amazed that the price now on BA for the flights I booked has gone up to a staggering £351.00 per person !!!! Two days earlier I paid £149.90 each , that's an increase of £201.00 EACH.
