Dunno ... we are still trying to figure out why a Scottish farmer poisoned my husband's Golden Retriever with Warfarin
A farmer? You sure it wasn't some guy from the docks?
Nope ... He lived in agricultural heartland. The farmers in Scotland leave Warfarin everywhere to kill off rats ... but this was left in my husband's barn, when the neighbouring farmer (no one else for miles) knew they had a dog
They shoot dogs if they get too close to their sheep also
Surely my joke didn't go over your head...
I've got a lot on my mind ..... totally missed it, and still don't get it (docks - dogs ... not your style!).
Please explain .... then I'll take some (long) moments away from the forum ....
Try Warfarin --> Warfies
Phew! ... it wasn't me after all ... It was you!
I had to Google that ... How do you expect civilised folk to be acquainted with Australian naval/dockies' slang?
I wonder how it came about though ... time for a little OED and Etymological searches, methinks.
(Might try and impress Paphitis later ).
