Well, I will not live amongst barbarians, my family and I are off back to civilization, and will never, ever, return to this place. Cyprus is a third world country, full of ignorance, so, why would any civilized person want to live here? when I return home, I will be making people aware of what the Cypriot really is like, a complete contrast to what the holiday maker see's, and I was one of them! I must have been bloody mad!!!

I’m sorry about your cats, but Cyprus doesn’t rank very high in the global animal abuse competition… in fact you’ll be surprised to learn that “civilized” countries like the US and UK are some of the world’s worst offenders!

but the difference is that in the USA and the UK, we take animal cuelty very seriously. per prosecute the offenders. it seems like no one in cyprus even likes talking about it, let alone press thier politioians and police to do anything about it. you're all too worried about being laughed at. i'd rather be laughed out for sticking up for animal rights, than to meet my maker at the end of my life feeling ashamed i did NOTHING.
cyprus does act like a 3rd world country sometimes.

A farmer? You sure it wasn't some guy from the docks?

Nope ... He lived in agricultural heartland. The farmers in Scotland leave Warfarin everywhere to kill off rats ... but this was left in my husband's barn, when the neighbouring farmer (no one else for miles) knew they had a dog

They shoot dogs if they get too close to their sheep also

Thanks Get Real, I am in mourning, but I fear the Cypriot laughs at mourning for an animal. I can see as I have visited the Vet's over the last few day's, that there are a few Cypriots who love animals, but they are few, and are the educated. For now, I can't stand to look at any Cypriot, and will never forgive, they know what they are doing when they administer Lanate, what it does before the animal dies, that I don't forget, or forgive. I asked the Vet why he thinks they do it, his answer was to shrug his shoulders, and say,'some people have hard hearts' but then he is making money out of it isn't he? It is not a hard heart that does this to a defenceless animal, it is 'no heart', and there are way too many of these 'no heart' beings in Cyprus, they are alien to me, and every other normal human being. I don't excuse the 'uneducated' why would you have to learn to love animals? in the case of the Cypriot, an animal does not make money unless it is hunting other animals for money, so what do they do? poison them. I know that they love their children, so when a child dies of Lanate poisoning? who will they blame? themselves? hell no.

It’s a cruel world unfortunately… I often complain about the millions of human victims in 3rd world countries caused by the “civilized” lot, yet some people here cheer it on so what’s the probability they’ll care about three cats…

Sorry ... have seen no signs of it in Cyprus myself, and my dog is usually off the lead roaming around the fields in a mostly agricultural (just) village.
