That's because it's not CASE sensitive, duh!

Back after a quick Google test ... Search Bill (a name), and bill (an invoice) ... and both come up with the same searches. 8)

So there is no independent North Cyprus or South Cyprus ..... just good old north and south of one CYPRUS.

If Cyprus doesn’t play any part in world politics then what chances does the “TRNC” you want recognized have?

Only role south cyprus can play in world politics is protecting wild donkey life.

None of your business foreigner .

Grandpa, it becomes my business when your favorite woman says, just for the sake of flooding the forum, south cyprus plays a more important role than Turkey in world politics.

Realities hurt. south cyprus is a small country without any significance and you are a big ZEROOOOOOOO and yet you think you are the centre of the world. How ridiculous.

Foreigner , South Cyprus DOES NOT EXIST . The entire world agrees .
You are not a Cypriot so your ignorance on the correct name of this island which has a story of 10 thousand years , is understood. Cyprus has existed and has been universally known as Cyprus , a foreigner such as you and a number of others who share your views are simply ignorant of the correct name for this island which is CYPRUS. Do you know of any world mailservice that addresses letters , parcels etc to South Cyprus ???
Stop being so bloody stupid , Cyprus is Cyprus every inch of it .
Do read my signature you may learn something.

Phew, I was getting worried. I have visited South Cyprus on more than one occasion and reading that it doesn't exist I was beginning to wonder if in was all a dream.
How can I check whether I am right thought I.
Aah, I know, enter the words 'South Cyprus' in Google and see what the reality is.

What a relief 29.500,000 references.

How did you arrive at "South Cyprus" , by plane or by boat because according to ALL International references there is NO such destination .
Fly by any International air carrier , post from any part of the world and the address is CYPRUS . Ask any of the 60 thousand T/Cs who carry a ROC ID or passport , maybe you do also , and they will tell you that the correct name on their ID /PASSPORT IS CYPRUS.
ps. Do you know by what name is this EU island OFFICIALY KNOWN? YES YOU QUESSED IT !!!!

Arrived by plane. Can't remember the carrier nor the agent but it could have been one of many who advertise flights and holidays to South Cyprus .Perhaps the likes of Lastminute.com
Their webpage www.lastminute.com/site/find/World/Euro ... light.html is interesting even in its wording starting with the world and moving into smaller geographical descriptions until it finally finishes with South Cyprus.
Arrived in Paphos in Southwest Cyprus but according to the logic professed by many GCs Southwest Cyprus can't exist either.

There was no need for me to QUESS the offical name of the island of Cyprus any more than the official name of the island of Hispaniola, occupied by two republics.

Tried your Google test and entered 'South Cyprus' and 'South Cyprus' and got search results relating to South Cyprus (the place)............none relating to any other meaning/s of the words ' South Cyprus'.

Do you not understand what it means to be CASE insensitive? :?

It will be the same whether you enter south cyprus or South cyprus or south Cyprus or South Cyprus ... because it is case insensitive.

In English that means, although "South Cyprus" would denote something equivalent to South Korea which is what you were hoping, Google in fact sees it as just "south cyprus" and looks for the words ... not the meanings! Think along the lines of my earlier example with the two different meanings for the same word "bill" which when spelt with upper-case i.e. "Bill", refers to a person.

So the fact you got X-thousands of returns for "South Cyprus" is meaningless in the context of your post, regarding the existence of a "South Cyprus".

Gawd  ... Oracle please shut up and switch off .... I'm going hyper again :?

Mr T does not understand how search engines work !!!
Try searching for Stroumbi The Great or South Stroumbi and you will see this village with hundreds of "search results"
Plonker a nation exists by its official name , the one that appears on its legal documents which are in turn recognised worldwide , passports IDs and much more , you wont see the word South , North Greek or Turkish !!

ps. Try also " the HISTORY of Cyprus"

Drove through Stroumbi The Great 10 days ago, but it didn't look very inviting due mainly to the heavily dust laden sky at the time!

Of course I realise how search engines work and was just making a point that there are numerous references to South Cyprus . To be technically correct there were 29,500,000 results in response to my search. This is a fact.

I get your second point that a nation has an official name and has passports, like those of the TRNC which I believe are recognised by your friends, the USA amongst others. If, however, you are trying to say that a country exists only if it is recognised by the rest of the world this would be nonsence.

I am, by the way, aware of the history of Cyprus from 1961 when I lived in Limassol but my main sympathies, based on their suffering and crimes committed against them prior to their liberation in 1974, are with the Turkish Cypriots.

Someone has already corrected you that search engines are CASE INSENSITIVE so regardless of whether you type “South” or “south” the same results will appear.

I just tried it and got:

Results 1 - 10 of about 79,300 for "South Cyprus". (0.18 seconds)

What does this prove?
