and have all your dogs and/or cats sterilized immediately. It is so much more healthier for an animal to be sterlised whether male or female. They live longer and have a healthier, happier life. Some people think it is cruel to sterlise males but it isn’t! Imagine how a male cat feels; it is like a man taking too much Viagra and needing to relieve himself 24 hours a day because the pain would get too much! So many unwanted kittens and puppies get dumped in plastic bags because of pet owners being irresponsible, it is cruel and needless! If you have a couple of stray cats coming to your home every day have them operated too. Tell your vet you want a deal because they are stray and you have a few of them, most vets will give you a better price. Save a few euros each week or month to pay for this instead of making the excuse you can’t afford it.
There are so many unwanted pets in the shelters and wandering the streets that need homes, adopt one of these and don’t breed your pet because your friend wants one of its puppies/kittens!! Stop the suffering of unwanted pets and strays by helping the cats and dogs of Cyprus. PLEASE!
Catsnip and other small animal welfare groups try to trap and sterlise stray cats but have limited resources to keep up, if we ALL did our bit and at least operated our own pets and the strays that come to our door, it would make a big difference and stop so much cruelty and suffering.
DON’T DELAY: Save and Sterlise!!!
THANK YOU!

May I appeal to all responsible pet owners to put their pets to sleep humanely. Lannate poisoning is not very nice.

Boogie's two best friends were poisoned this week, including the mother (allegedly, I shall demand a DNA test!!!!) of his little puppies; after intense medical treatment (7 injections in one day) they are still alive but very poorly.

I went to see their owner this weekend and saw another dog, dead in the small field just 50m from my house. These dogs did not 'worry' the goats or bark at night; the farmer who laid down the lanate does not even live close by; we thought he was our friend - we have known him for years No longer can Boogie run free, now he is condemned to a lead; creatures who just want to play, love and be loved suffer a painful death.

Worse; the owner is putting Lanate on the outlets of the irrigation system in his banana grove, as that is where r*ts drink. It will subsequently be absorbed into the bananas and soon be appearing at a supermarket near you!

i thought lanate had become illegal in cyprus?????

might i add that not sterilizing your male pets make them more aggressive, meaning that they will get in more fights, which could mean more vet bills.
if only we could sterilize some (human) men! LOL

I have 2 bitches and a dog, who are all sterilised.
We had Harry done whenwe came to Cyprus as I was afraid he would get a sniff of a bitch in season and be off, never to be seen again.

We have a Cypriot neighbour who was trying to give her bitches pups away. I said to her "if you dont want her to have pups, then spay her" she said " I have better things to do with my money thank you!!!!! "
With an attitude such as this there will always be unwanted dogs and cats.

We have a major problem in Cyprus with stray/feral cats (especially) and dogs. I disagree with the use of poisons, such as lanate, but something needs to be done.

Suggestions?
