Nicos Samson, was a weird bloke with a bizarre sense of ethics and moral values…

He thought that participating in a coup to overthrow the democratically elected government of Cyprus and placing himself as “president” was ok, but running away once Turkey invaded and later getting arrested and imprisoned for treason was not! In fact he thought it was a violation of his human rights…

“The Commission finds that these complaints are wholly
unsubstantiated. It follows that they are manifestly ill-founded within

DECLARES THE APPLICATION INADMISSIBLE.”

President Makarios should be canonised or sanctified or whatever the religious equivalent of being awarded a Nobel Prize happens to be, just for this:
