30/70 with maximum gcs in the north is.
You will see that the agreement will not be less than 25/75.

Why is not viable? You can't live without stealing?

Nobody is going to steal anything. Some land will be given back, most GC's will be able to return back to their homes and some will be componsated. How is that stealing?
Its a matter of working out, first what percentage to be given back, then how many GC will return and how many will be compensated. I think you will find that quite a few will want copensation. It gives maximum to everyone. Whats wrong with that?

I'll tell you whats wrong with it as far as GCs are concerned - compensation, especially if it is paid at a governmental level and not at a face to face level, lacks all sense of payback or revenge. GCs don't want money - they've got more than they need. They want everyone in TRNC out in the street without a roof over their heads. Anything less and they will feel cheated of their humiliation of 1974 being transfered to the people of the TRNC.

You do talk rubbish dont you !!
Are you a pipe smoker by any chance ??

Miltiades,

You have to answer the points made. Whether a man smokes pipe or nargile has no bearing on the matter. I am sure there are plenty of GCs with revengeful mentality.

I'm sure there are indeed many G/Cs with such mentality . This guy is a bloody foreigner who is in Cyprus not for the love of its people and the future of the new generations , but for the sun , sea and cheap housing costs.
He pokes his nose into matters that not only does he know absolutely nothing about but couldn't care less of the outcome provided his " investment" is safe.
I have no time for Brits who buy on the cheap and then have the audacity to express opinions on the Cypriot people when clearly their ONLY concern is the continuation of the status quo which ensures their " investments" are safe. There are many such cheapskates , I dont like them and can wait for a solution that deprives them of their spoils of " greed"
Telling the T/Cs that they care for them is not only hypocritical but patronizing to the highest extent.

There are lots of English people retiring in countries from Spain to Cyprus and everywhere else in between. There are making use of the situation regarding Property prices and cost of living to have a better retirement life. Most of these people would have bought their land from a TC who got his land in exchange. You can't blame the TCs for losing patience with the two governments’ peace antics for the last 40 years.
It is a very complicated issue and I have no doubt that they will get the same deal as all other TCs. What is wrong with that? These people contribute to the TC economy. If TC's don't mind them being there, nor should anybody else.

.

There's nothing wrong, as long as they leave the GC properties upon a settlement, or if compensation is to be paid to the original owners, they can pay today's going rate, which is many times over what they paid for stolen property. . So let me ask you, what's wrong with that.?

These people were warned by their own government, the British Government that buying property in the north was very risky. They ignored those warning, so let them think twice next time when they buy stolen property, so that they can have a wonderful retirement at the misery of others. How much more morally corrupt can one get, and you want to feel sorry for them, because they supported the TC economy.? If so, you are a more understanding than me, and when it comes to compassion, I have a great deal of it on those who are deserving, but not for the ones who want to have their tan their HARAM SINS in the Cyprus sun..!
