Are there any suppliers and fitters in the Limassol area ?
Will a water underfloor system provide warmth through 4in stone flag stones ?

Thanks LEE.
I have just bought a historic house in a small village. I am allowed to improve the house using traditional materials, under the watchful eyes of the government. However I cannot install a radiator based heating system but am allowed underfloor heating.
The floors are 200 year old flags which can be lifted but must be replaced.

I guess stone is a an ok conductor of heat so eventually the stone will warm and the warm stone will heat the room. It might just not be as efficient and it might take much longer to heat the space from the time you turn the heating on.

You will need serious insulation UNDER the heating elements/pipes otherwise much of the heat will be wasted. A builder friend of mine has recently put 3 inches of celotex (equivalent to 6 inches polystyrene) under his heated floor.
