You could have fooled me Kurupetos. Although I emphasize with their losses, those that spew hatred and venom to either side contribute to the partitionists plans.

That doesn't even make sense.

What proof do you have that objecting to the invaders, means we are contributing to partition?

It's as if you are saying anyone revolting against slavery was contributing to its continuation! Yet it would not have been abolished if people did not make a noise and voice their objections.

You just want to silence us so that everyone thinks we agree with the present partition and occupation.

You are not in favourable mode at the mo. D.

I know you do this intentionally in order to create conflict. I will wait to see if there is better way to deal with the racist partitionists.

You Sotos and a few other of your compatriots are the main contributors the prtitionist cause. Your constant belligerence leave the TC partitionists no other choice but fight for partition. Had you and your fellow compatriots mellowed a bit things might have been different.

Just realise that their are partitionists on both sides of the divide. Sadly.

How right you are Deniz !!
If they could only show some concern for the other side and the other sides concerns , their fear for the future and that of their loved ones, perhaps a solution might be at hand.
I worry about the future of my grandchildren and I know conclusively that the T/Cs also worry about their loved ones and their future in Cyprus .
Lets not lose any faith in our Cypriot compatriots ability to use their strong family commitments and act according to the interests of our future generations.

Mitiades,
The next generation is wide awake. The guard hasn't changed yet.
After the next ellections we may have the new guard in politics in the north. They will truly not associate themselves with the partitionists.
They will be the true Cypriots.

I think K puts it very succinctly.

If some put across their opposition to Occupation and a Partitionist BBF clumsily or provocatively or with hate then I would like to think that it's a proportionate response (short of war) to the frustrations of the situation and to the Partitionist/bbf, land-grabbing schemers who don't exactly post with moderate language.

So I don't think Sotos et all contribute to or cause Partition, they (to my mind) react to it and argue with justifiable anger against it.

I hear what you say, but put these people at a conference table and see where it will get them.

Hi D

Dunno mate, but if I can get back to speaking for my well-mannered, peace loving, polite self  I can see the case for not even turning up at the Conf cos there isn't much that needs negotiating to my liberal, western democracy loving mind.

Hi Milti,

Perhaps my main observation is the language and rhetoric used. People wanting genuine peace should change their attitude. This applies to both sides. I see these responses as a betrayal of the interests of Cyprus. Showing your anger at what has happened and talkig peace are two different things.

Wasnt it a few whites who fought for the abolishing of slavery?. If it was the 'slaves' themselves, probably no one would have taken any notice.
