Utu, it has nothing to do with directly Athens and Ankara. It has everything to do the with for over a century going on self-determination right of GCs VS self-determination right of TCs. We even offered a common consociational self-determination right of 2 communities but they still insist on self-determination right of GCs.

Insan, please read what I wrote: I was saying that Cypriots' allegiances TO those capitals means that people are thinking of themselves as either Greek or Turk BEFORE being Cypriot.

That's because they r either Turk or Greek. I see nothing wrong with that. There's no such thing that Turks and Greeks can't live together. It all depends on their common historical background. For example if there were Serbian Cypriots %25 and GCs %75 on Cyprus; sure they would get along very well in Cyprus.

Do u think if there were %50 TCs/%50 GCs in Cyprus we would get along well? No of course because of our rival historical background, geo-politic location, competetive behaviors in Western alliance towards communal and national interests; still there would have been huge communal and national interest clashes.

Under such circumstances; Cypriot is the description of who was born in Cyprus, couldn't be anything else. Some TCs back in 40s and 60s were mebers of AKEL. AKEL everytime backstabbed them by suddenly changing it's policy and pursueing Enosis policy. Even if leftists couldn't resist nationalism no one else could do. Just a few years ago AKEL backstabbed TCs one more time. Akel supposedly was against EU but all of a sudden changed it's policy by delusion of right wingers and for the sake of their cause and national interests, embraced the so-called "European Solution".

Now, go and ask all TCs that aware of the tricks GCs ruling elite play. Everything is cyristal clear to us. It's been more than a century that we struggle not to become a minority but a politically equal state partner of GC community. However they always exerted to degrade us into minority status. Enough is enough. We r going through the final session. There will be no turning back.

You remind me of the blind man in the movie that didn't know he was black.

You're a minority, get over it.
