But yeah, Turkey does not have a very good record, but then which developing country does?

Well CTA is a very small company and it is very hard to compare their record with THY. I think CTA only have 2-3 aircraft. I don't think their standards would be any higher than THY.

But on the other hand, Turkey is a JAA member and so it's Regulatory Standards are quite good.

Aviation Safety is serious business and not a political football for scoring cheap political points.

Borrowing money to pay off previously borrowed money… is that what they call “negative gearing”?

The Airlines will operate 7 aircraft and increase its seat capacity by 35% as from the summer season.

In a written statement today, the Director of the Cyprus Turkish Airlines Ahmet Akpinar provided detailed information about the restructuring project for 2009-2017.

Pointing out that the Airlines celebrates 35 years of flight, he stated that two wet-lease Airbus 310-200 aircraft would be added to the Airlines fleet; the first in March and the second in April.

He noted that a new Boeing 737-800 plane would be added to the fleet in April.

Stressing that the Airlines has successfully been providing service for the last 35 years, he explained that more than 900-thousand passengers flew with the Airlines in 2008.

The Director also added that the Airlines are planning to expand its fleet of 12 passenger aircraft and to increase its overall seat capacity to above 2-thousand by the end of 2012.

He noted that the Airlines have been carrying passengers to 51 different airports since the launch of flights to Italy, Scandinavian countries and Iran.

this credit will use all sectors of the TRNC economy .

The agreement was signed in Ankara at the end of negotiations between the Turkish Treasury Undersecretariat and the TRNC Finance Ministry.
The credit will be available once the legal procedure is completed and the agreement is approved by the Councils of Ministers of the two countries.

The credit will be used for the restructuring of various sectors in the TRNC, especially to support the growth of financial and real sectors and the restructuring of the public sector.

In a statement, the Minister of Finance Ahmet Uzun referred the credit agreement as very important and said that the credit would bring new opportunities for the development of various sectors.

`A credit agreement worth 500-million US dollars has never been signed before in the history of the TRNC. The signing of the agreement is a proof of good relations established through close dialogue and joint work carried out with the Turkish State`, he noted.

Are there any tc's who really believe this that its for the "development" of many sectors and not for the payment of the huge civil service payroll?

It is called "Ponzi Scheme" named after Charles Ponzi who "invented" this and his picture found its way into the hall of the fame of the convicts.

Definition:
A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investment operation that pays returns to investors from their own money or money paid by subsequent investors rather than from profit. The term "Ponzi scheme" is used primarily in the United States , while other English-speaking countries do not distinguish colloquially between this scheme and pyramid schemes.
