JOINT EVENTS WERE ORGANIZED BY DEV-IS AND PEO WOMEN BUREAUS
Revolutionary Workers’ Union (DEV-IS) Women’s Bureau and the PEO Women’s Bureau have organized joint events to mark the 8 March – International Women’s Day.
This morning, officials of the DEV-IS Union visited various businesses and presented flowers to women workers.
Later, the Union hosted a cocktail party at the new premises of the Yenidüzen newspaper for women journalists who made contributions to the Turkish Cypriot press.
Delivering a speech there on behalf of the DEV-IS Women’s Bureau, Sevgül Uludag stressed that this year’s joint celebration of World Women’s Day is a clear message of peace for a common land.
Also speaking, the head of Greek Cypriot PEO’s Women’s Bureau Marina Kuku underlined the need for all Cypriot women to contribute to the solution of the Cyprus problem which she said will allow the reunification of the island and enable all to live in peace.
According to information provided by Sevgul Uludağ, officials of the DEV-IS Women’s Bureau will cross into South Cyprus tomorrow and visit various businesses together with officials of PEO Women’s Bureau to hand out flowers to women workers.
