The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus hosted the 1st Turkic World Youth Summit.
The youth summit, which started yesterday and ends today, was organized by the Turkish town of Bursa’s Eurasian Centre for Strategic Studies- BASAM.
Young people from the Turkic world who were in the TRNC to attend the 1st Turkic World Youth Summit was received by the Minister of National Education and Culture Canan Oztoprak today.
Speaking during the visit, the BASAM Director, who is also a Turkmenian university student, Hudayiberdi Muradov said the Turkic World Youth Summit carries great importance in terms of getting to know the Turkic history and promoting Turkic countries.
Welcoming the group, Minister Oztoprak provided information about the TRNC universities which she said have been hosting 48 thousand foreign students, the majority being from Turkey.
Pointing out that organizing such activities will strengthen friendship and cooperation, the Minister hoped to see the Turkic youth putting their signatures under beautiful initiatives in many fields such as education and science.
Members of the Turkic youth group later established their stands at the Girne American University to promote their countries and interact with the Turkish Cypriot youth.
The group consists of 52 students from Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Albania, Bulgaria, Kosovo, Crimea, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhistan, Turkmenistan, Turkey, Mongolia, Vietnam, Russia, Iran and Kenya.
The second of the Turkic World Youth Summit is going to take place in Crimea in April.
