Les Grands Mythes de l’Histoire de Belgique

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Les Grands Mythes de l’Histoire de Belgique

Postby Bananiot » Tue Mar 03, 2009 11:08 pm

Twenty three historians, under the supervision of Anne Morelli, make mincemeat of 23 myths of Belgian history. All myths that were created to lend support to the meaning of the Belgian Nation are destroyed, one by one.

Can anyone imagine this happening in our part of the world?

I've done this several times Bananiot.

As I said many times Cyprus is part of the Greek Nation. There is no difference between Cyprus, Crete, Rhodes or any other Greek island, with the exception that those other islands gained their self-determination and united with the rest of Greece, while our revolt for freedom and self-determination was oppressed violently by the combined attacks of the British and Turks.

Accepting to create a separate Cypriot Nation was a compromise we were forced to make in 1960, although we knew full well that the reason behind this and the semi-independence they gave us was to isolate Cyprus from the rest of the Greek nation so it will be easier for them to manipulate us.

Cyprus was never part of the "Greek Nation", no more or less than it is part of the éTurkish Nation"

What Turkish Nation? A bunch of nomadic tribesmen trying to get used to staying put and living in mud huts instead of tents?... just because Ataturk said they had to become one nation? And any getting itchy feet get sent over to Cyprus to carry on their nomadic expansionist invasions!

In what way is Cyprus different than Rhodes, Crete or any other Greek island, other than the fact that our revolt for freedom and self-determination was oppressed violently by the combined attacks of the British and Turks?

The first modern Greek Republic was created in 1821. Are you going to tell me that Athens became Greek in 1821 and that it was not Greek before that? Most of the rest Greek territories and islands joined the Greek Republic after that. Rhodes united with Greece in 1947.

So I ask you again: What is the difference between Cyprus and any other Greek island except from the fact that foreign troops denied to Cyprus its freedom and self-termination?

Well mainly the fact that we live here too and we were equal partners.

If you claim that you have the right to dominate then so do we.

What is the problem?
