This country is ours / this land is ours.

Never a truer word. Lets hope it stays like this.

Cyprus for Cypriots...and those that chose to be Cypriots..

That is what we have to get across to our GC friends. Those who chose to be Cypriots.

There is another one - Guzel gunler gorecegiz cocuklar, gemileri maviliklere surecegiz.

Hope is the strongest weapon humanity has. We lose hope, we give up.

Let me correct you if I may Mr wallace sir.
You will find that a fair amount of this music is banned in Turkey and the chances are the TC forumers may never have heard these songs.
Go forth and multiply with your superiority complex. I am sure you will find a way. You are greek aren't you old boy.

Let me correct you Mr Y-Fred sir.

You will find that a fair amount of this music is not understood by various forumers so they do not know if it's banned in Turkey....do they now? And since when does somebody have an superiority complex by writing down the facts of a puppet state in occupied Cyprus? And even if I was Greek...or Turkish......or TC.....what does my ethnic background have to do with the realities on the island of Cyprus?

You are obviously not fully understanding the changing realities on the ground in Northern Cyprus, or the power of the song in that. Find out how many TC stood outside Denkatas's apartment and sung "Bu Memleke Bizim", which led to the opening of the crossings, before you make such ignorant Generalisations.

Back to my music, If I may sir Master .
Well....I've been reading various things regarding the changing realities in the occupied part of Cyprus. Including the polls. Doesn't look to good for the island of Cyprus.....does it? Back to the music. Sounds interesting this "Bu Memleke Bizim"...but what does it mean. Could you please translate Mr. Yfred sir for the forumers that do not understand Turkish. :D
It makes perfect sense. The TCs are a little upset with the GCs right now. Thats all. It will change. I hope.

Sorry, see my signature. The translation is there. It really means "it belongs to all of us". Inclusive and all that.

You have to read N Hikmet poems. There are english translations.

I never heard Boşu Boşuna. Yep usual Edip standard. He is just Mega.
Not just a singer but truly a Huge human.
I heard his argument with the leader of Turkeshes party on You tube. How many musucians can speak like him?
What a man.

Bro edip is one of the old guns of Turkish left. :D

I know, I thought I knew allhis songs, I have all his albums, but I missed that one. Perhaps he has an album I don't have. Which one is this song from.
May be I am missing an album?
Your knowledge would be appreciated.

The original lyrics and music of "Boşu Boşuna" belongs to Aşık Mahsuni
Şerif. Serif's lyrics and songs have inspired Anatolian Rock bands throughout decades form late 60s and onwards.

There r 2 versions of Edip's "boşu boşuna". The below youtube video was made with the original song that released back in 1972 in 45' format. Later in 80's, Edip rearranged it with new music technology but killed the spirit of this song in my opinion. I don't like the products of digital technology that make no sense to my soul. I'm still into very much of the master pieces of analogue music technologly. Pure psychedelic spirit to my soul that feeds my heart and mind.

Follow the below link to whole discography of Edip. :D

Nice one but I'd prefer "one more cup of coffee for I go" by Bob and Baez singing together. :D

Yep. She is not natural on this one, but I just love her.
