By 1963 you had already killed over 30.000 Cypriots and oppressed us for more than 300 years already. So 1963 was not what happened first. And this is our island. Are you saying that in 1963 Cypriots invaded Cyprus? You are the invaders you fool. If Turks had not invaded Cyprus then there would be peace in Cyprus and no problems. True, the Greeks, in the form of the Byzantines, gave up slavery first, but by then they were a much different culture. As far as I recall the Byzantines abolished slavery in 1066, same year the Normans enslaved the Anglosaxons and serfdom was entrenched in Britain.

Re slavery in general, one cannot be a true democrat if one owns slaves. That the surrounding tribes were inferior to the ancient Greeks is no excuse. They also took slaves from defeated and comparatively advanced enemies.

Democracy wasn't born ready made ... it was molded by the contributions of many, and now has stood the test of time in its present form.

Besides not all the ancient Greeks supported slavery; some opposed it strongly (the Stoics for example), and certainly they supported the good treatment of slaves. It wasn't till later with the Roman Empire that slavery saw its darkest hours with the Greeks becoming enslaved by the Romans themselves. The fact it carried on through the Byzantium was probably more due to the Roman influence.

If the Turks had not invaded us, multiple times, then we would have peace and no problems.

U would have happily anexed with Greece, we would have been a minority under oppression and u would have called this peace.

If you had not invaded the second time (1974) then almost all Cypriots would be happy except maybe some small minority of greedy Turks. If you had not invaded us the first time (1571) either then there wouldn't be any Turkish minority in Cyprus and all Cypriots would be happy. See. This is what I am talking about. DT, can u please answer my questions briefly?

1- What should Turkish leadership have done when Makarios proposed 13 amendments with a sole aim of degrading TCs into minority status?

2- How should TMT have acted during those years while u had many more than TMT alike organizations ready to act like TMT?

Please tell me. Where did TC leadership, TMT and Turkey go wrong?
