I had to laugh when I read the article no one can deny two countries on Cyprus. The world has been denying the existence of a military lead enclave for 33 years ... lol where have the Turks been?

Wishful thinking.
You can't blame the dis-functioning UN on the Turks. Its only a matter of time before people realise that its actually a travesty and should be put down like GR should be. It has become pointless.

What exactly is a travesty Fred , the occupation of a part of Cyprus by Turkey , the displacement of almost 200 thousand Cypriots from their ancestral homes , the demographic rape of Cyprus where the occupied part has less than 80 thousand indigenous Cypriots , the rest made up of settlers and soldiers , where is this travesty taking place .
An increasing number of T/Cs are reacting against the occupation and the presence of settlers in Cyprus. Turkey insists on two nations knowing bloody well that the overwhelming majority in the northern part of Cyprus are Turkish settlers. She will not get her way , the T/Cs will not stand by and see their own extinction unfold and neither will the G/Cs ever accept a permanent partition of their island.

I was referring to the behaviour of the UN and its inability to actually do some good against the interest of the 5 Permanente Security members.
I am not saying that what happened in Cyprus was not. But just look at what has been going on in the world and the way UN is unable to do anything.

50,000 TCs left Cyprus since 1974 Aprox 30% of the population, does RoC policies have no responsibility for this? It takes two to tango.
Isn't that a travesty?

The RoC has a lot to answer for. No serious efforts have been undertaken to allay the fears of a section of our citizens and their concerns that the RoC is only representative of the largest of the two main communities.
I would like to see more arduous energy given to building trust and backed up with actions .
The RoC however can not be expected seriously to encourage the division of our island by gestures likely to promote the permanent partition of our island.

Are you kidding me? Really, are you kidding me? The government of Cyprus can not get any more left leaning then it is now! You hippie! What actions do you demand? Those citizens dont want anything to do with you or your notion of a Cypriot Republic! You dont even live on this island! How many more benefits must we hand out?

Is there a political party thats more left than a communist? I would like to know!!

Read this and read it carefully. Since 1974 we have been telling the International community that there is but ONE only Cyprus and that a part of Cyprus is under occupation by Turkey. We have proclaimed loud and clear that ALL citizens of the RoC are equal under the law of the land including the occupied part over which we have no " jurisdiction" .
We have our RoC passports and IDs clearly showing our nationality as being Cypriot and in 3 languages , Greek Turkish and English.
We are now a member of the EU , as Cyprus not South , Greek Cyprus but as CYPRUS. This surely tells that all of this island belongs to the Cypriot people , all Cypriot people , yet our ex President visits Greece and clearly and rather loudly declares this island as a Hellenic island , two fingers up to the those whom we are suppose to also represent .
Our very own ROC has as its national anthem the Greek !!!!! It flies the Greek flag unperterbed that this emblem is not only not acceptable to the T/Cs , whom we call equal citizens , but also unacceptable to those of us that very much wish to be what our parents grandparents and those before them were , CYPRIOTS.
We have to win the T/Cs on our side , they have to hear it from us , that this island belongs to all Cypriots not only to the G/Cs .

A long time ago I came to realize that no power on earth can remove one Turkish soldier from our island , the power that would be the USA but why should it , it is hated here just as much as its hated in Hamas land.
I came to the conclusion that the only power is that of the T/Cs . Voices of dissension are now audible in the occupied part and they are growing by the day. Let us convince them with actions that they are part of us not Turkey.

Yep. I'll go further, untie the TC hands and see how much and how fast they move away from Turkey.
TCs will fight but not with their hands tied behind their backs and being spoon fed by Turkey.

When I heard what Papadobullos say that he was strangling the TC economy with love, I just could not understand the non-reaction in the south.

You better come to another realization and quickly. The Turkish friends that you think you have on the other side in REAL LIFE show no will for a solution to the Cyprus problem on the basis of the UN resolutions or the principles and values of the European Union. Negotiations have clearly shown that your friend Talat wants a confederation, do you understand? TPAP is not in office, it doesnt matter who is! The Turks will not change their views. Let me also add that you show the same respect to TPAP that you do for Talat or Ataturk or who ever else you cherish. You understand you hippie? And if the Turks ever get adventurous again, the people who would even contemplate to come to your aid would be the same ones that you look down upon, and that is a son of a Hellene. This unapologetic Greek American from Cyprus knows what he is talking so change the record as i am tired of listening to it.

You and Bana, the repulsewarrior and who ever can bend all backwards all you guys want as you know thats what a lot of Greeks oops, i mean Cypriots like to do, yea i said it. As for me...I am signing off from this forum for awhile-- this aint my cup of tea.

All tc's and turkish politicians are speaking of confederation Milt. Who exactly are you blaming for the stalemate? Tpap said no to a bad Annan Plan, had he negotiated it and made it better do you really think the talks would have gone that far. The travesty that was the Annan plan was still not good enough for some as Denktash pointed out that the army was ready to intervene after we had declared the Republic null and void.

Cyprus is indeed for the Cypriots Milti, but the way things are going with bananiots partying being heard in the background about 50-50 govt participation...it seems that Cyprus will soon be compromised of Cypriots and Super Cypriots who have 4 times the voting and govt power.

Cyprus will only survive in a true democracy where all men and women are equal.

GCs have absolutely nothing to loose where 2 main communities of Cyprus share the legislative and judicial powers on 50/50 basis. If u still claim it would be detrimental for GC community please list me 10 probable to be appear cases and then we can discuss abt it.

50/50 power sharing has only one aim and that is not as u exert to portray it anti-democratic or giving the full control of Cyprus in hands of Turks but balancing the powers of 2 main communities of Cyprus towards encouraging them to cooperation and consociationalism.

50-50 numerical participation in any forms of govt when you are 1/5 of the population is racist.

I do not need more reasons than that.

I will keep it short. I opposed the AP and will oppose any future plan that is not based on one man one vote .

Just hold on a minute mate . You want to fly the Turkish flag while at the same time you want to be 50 % partner in the administration of Cyprus , well mate it ain't going to happen. You are either a Cypriot in which case you are part of the majority or you are a Turk , a foreigner , that will just have to accept proportional representation .
