I should just post on here and a couple of the other fora/ums what your requirements are. You will be flooded with offers.
You are also better off making sure the Title Deeds are available for any property you want to purchase.

There are many. 
I would wait till you arrive and go to Polis (town centre) and Latchi (harbour area), and they are all within short walking distance of each other.
Your finances (as always) will dictate which little pockets of the locality you can afford. There are many estates dotted around if you want cheaper, or some more isolated villas if you can stretch that far.
