To the government of Israel

We are writing this letter as profound and passionate supporters of Israel. We look upon the increasing loss of life on both sides of the Gaza conflict with horror. We have no doubt that rocket attacks into southern Israel, by Hamas and other militant Palestinian groups, are war crimes against Israel. No sovereign state should, or would, tolerate continued attacks and the deliberate targeting of civilians.

Israel had a right to respond and we support the Israeli government's decision to make stopping the rocket attacks an urgent priority.

However, we believe that only negotiations can secure long-term security for Israel and the region.

We are concerned that rather than bringing security to Israel, a continued military offensive could strengthen extremists, destabilise the region and exacerbate tensions inside Israel with its one million Arab citizens. The offensive and the mounting civilian victims - like the Lebanon war in 2006 - also threaten to undermine international support for Israel.

We stand alongside the people of Israel and urge the government of Israel and the Palestinian people, with the assistance of the international community, to negotiate:

• An immediate and permanent ceasefire entailing an end to all rocket attacks and the complete and permanent lifting of the blockade of Gaza.

• International monitoring of the ceasefire agreement, including measures to ensure the security of the borders between Israel and Gaza as well as the prevention of weapons smuggling into Gaza.

It is our desire to see a durable solution for ordinary people and our view that an immediate ceasefire is not only a humanitarian necessity but also a strategic priority for the future security of Israelis, Palestinians and people of the region.

Deniz , I have ALWAYS believed that the targeting and killing of civilians , regardless who the perpetrators or the victims are , as crimes against humanity.I'm on record on this forum having stated this many times. I detest the indiscriminate and premeditated killing of innocent people anywhere.
Having said this may I also add that that Israel has to do all it can to stop rockets landing on its cities , no one can deny that any nation has this right to defend its people against such cowardly attacks.NEGOTIATIONS IS WHAT IS NEEDED .

You know as well as I do that the Israeli victims of suicide bombers have been counted in the dozens not the hundreds. I do not defend suicide bombers but it does not strengthen your 'defence' of Israel and does nothing for your comments on Jews to exaggerate the extent of suicide bombing. Sure the political psychological effect of suicide bombers is significant, far above its physical extent.

Would you honestly suggest that if the enemies of Israel , ie Hamas , Hezbollah , some on this forum etc , would for a second hesitate in launching an attack of the magnitude of the Hiroshima atomic bomb if the could?
Do you think that the 100s of suicide attacks against innocent citizens of the state of Israel were prepared and executed to cause "minimum" death and destruction ?
No Sir , if Hamas and the rest , some on this forum included , had the power they would massacre every single living being in Israel , make no mistake , we are talking about dangerous and somewhat deranged ideologists , not freedom fighters but martyrdom seekers.
The killing just has to stop ,the hatred put aside and the search for peace intensified .

This is no kind of meaningful response to my comment. I said that the victims of suicide bombings can be counted in the dozens. I made no comment about 'what if' they were armed with nuclear bombs ! The simple fact is that Hamas is not armed with nuclear bombs It is as useful to ask what would happen if the Israelis were armed with armed with foam hammers : they're not. What is the point of such speculation.

What most people should consider is the small boy in the last picture (right), what a lovely little human who will sadly grow up with his brain filled with hate and islamic bile.
The one major difference is that he and his parents do have a choice whereas the poor child on the left didn't.

Not in a million years could you prove that your" half Cypriot" derived from the ancient Greeks , it may or may not where as my claim of being a true Cypriot is substantiated and accepted by the International community , the UN , EU and more potently by Greece it self that refers to us as I KIPRII , the Cypriots .
Do you have a Cypriot ID ? If so does it mention anywhere that you are a Greek ? Mine just says CYPRIOT .
As for being a Jew , I think I have on multiple occasions aired my Cypriot credentials so supporting the only democracy in its struggle to survive in a very hostile environment in the M East does not mean that I'm a Jew or indeed that you are a Palestinian having already conclusively shown that you are a mixed up individual who has no faith in your own true identity , at least half of it . My children are also half Cypriot and half English but I brought them up to be proud of their Cypriot half and to know that Cyprus has a history going back some 7 thousand years before the Greeks set foot on the island. Yes we are related to Greeks but damn me if I'm going to reject and demote my Cypriotness. You should try it too.
