You are a joke , everyone knows it and I think you should join the murderous terrorists that are Hamas , Hezbollah and of course your all time favourites Al Qeada.
Your contribution towards a solution to the Cyprus problem is not only abysmal it is disgraceful , you have ignored every fundamental rule of diplomacy and have added ammunition to the extreme T/Cs who want nothing to do with G/Cs . Their resolve towards partition has been greatly strengthened by your vulgarity and utter disregard of their concerns.

Don't be silly , the forum needs all opinions , yours is one of them , even your statement on "Chistofias " and your revolution with your 15 mates.
Be a man face it , Miltiades enjoys the support of the vast majority on this forum because of his honesty and consistency, the support of mostly all T/Cs , Brits and all of the G/Cs minus the extremists .
Stay on and fight dont put your tail between your legs and hide.

Miltiades, how do you suggest that the Palestinians fight for their freedom? You call Hamas and Hezbollah "terrorists", but the fact is that the terror is coming from Israel, and the Palestinians don't have a big army to go on a "normal" war with Israel to defend their rights, and that is why they are forced to fight in that way.

Give to the Palestinians fighter Jets, precision missiles, high tech tanks etc, and then they wouldn't need to be "terrorists" anymore. They would make war and fight in the "normal" way.

You could say of course that there is no need to fight, they can just solve their problem with negotiations peacefully. But that is not realistic. We have first hand experience that when you are the weak side you can not gain your rights and freedom with negotiations.

Maybe we have the luxury to waste our time with negotiations because not all of our country is occupied and we have a high standard of living, but the Palestinians do not have this luxury. We also have a recognized country and we can fight with other means, through EU for example. Again, the Palestinians don't have this.

Piratis , the first step that the Palestinians ought to take is to recognize the right of Israel to exist. Without this step taken all efforts to reach a settlement will always end up in conflict where the innocent men women and children will pay the ultimate penalty .
So far such steps to recognise Israel's right to exist are ignored. The fact of the matter is that ISRAEL IS THERE TO STAY . It is a nuclear nation and enjoys the support of the USA . The Palestinians have suffered immensely most of the punishment deriving from their own leadership who fails to adopt the pragmatic approach that should be adopted , that of negotiations based on respecting the right of Israel to exist and demanding the same right is extended to them.
Their last popular leader turned out to have been a disaster for the Palestinian people amassing millions of dollars in overseas accounts for his exclusive benefit.

May I vociferously disagree with your statement that our negotiations are a waste of time , that is what you are saying . We negotiate because financially we are not affected therefore we can indulge in "meaningless " negotiations.
No Piratis , we negotiate because that IS THE CORRECT process that will lead to a viable and a just FOR ALL solution. The UN , the EU , the US as well as Russia WANT US to continue negotiations , every single International organization want us to continue negotiations.

Our goal must be the unification of our island for the sake of our future generations , I have never tolerated capitulation and I have never accepted the status quo but have always insisted on my principles that this island of ours must be the rightful home also to our T/C compatriots.
The persistence in elaborating historical realities 1571 , 1958 , 1963 and 1974 must be curtailed , our children must learn to live with the present and not the past.
Turkey is in violation of our rights as Cypriots in restricting us from enjoying all of our land , but to the T/Cs Turkey is providing a life line .
Let us continue the negotiations and let us hope that the Palestinians abandon the all or nothing approach and help to establish peace in this part of the M.E.

Why do I support the right of Israel to exist ? UN supports Israel's right to exist , the EU supports it too along with every single Westrern nation including Cyprus .

Without prejudice

To GR

I respectfully request that you re-open your website

If only for the likes of myself who like to view the CY prob from all possible angles .It contained a wealth of resources that I was only just beginning to digest. Over the years I have gained a good insight into the causes of the Cy prob from members of the forum and your website I could see developing into a great tool for this.

I think you knew that you were on a hiding to nothing with the poll ( I didnt even get chance to vote along with many others) I think you realised and it was obvious to yourself and some other members of forum I am sure, that miltiades would get the overwhelming votes from TC members and Brit members who probably voted for personality rather than substance,

Sometimes people just scan read posts and do not take in the thoughts behind the words,If they bothered to sit back, think, and digest what you have written I am sure that they would see the sense behind a lot of your posts.

Please reopen the website

regards

A.Brit

i fully agree with GR.i am sure gc will never agree to anything in cyprus which allows any form of self determination to tc.they only want full and 100% control of the whole island for themselves.

i have asked a question a number of times on this forum and never received one positive response. i shall ask it again

change can only happen with negotiation.every time talks take place the gc throw all their wants on the table and none of them are open to negotiation.how can you negotiate on this basis.this can only mean the gc do not intend to concede anything and will continue the policy of trying to starve tc off the island, the same policy they started in the 50s.well i'm sorry but it aint gonna happen.

we get pratts like miltiades pretending he is some sort of enlightened cypriot but when it comes down to it he is just a right wing fascist racist.almost as much as pea brain ,advocater of killing turks, oracle

i repeat again is any gc prepared to concede something in negotiations.

no ? no problem we will just stay as we are at least for the lifetime of everyone on this forum

GR! ... I am really disappointed in you! After all that hard work to just throw in the towel because of one cantankerous Brit's (Miltiades) point of view .... who does not even live on the Island, but just uses it as another money-making venture ... to allow him to divert you from your path to free Cyprus from the Turkish tyranny!

Pull yourself together, he is not worthy of such sacrifice ... he is a Brit! Why should he de-rail the peace-process? ..... and the acquisition of data to confront the illegitimate invasion?

Ignore him!

With respect Miltiades the PLO already recognised the right of Israel to exist some time ago when they were in Oslo. It is the impotence of the PLO to achieve even marginal gains in the negotiation process, as well as its own incompetence at governing the parts they control, along with the corruption that has led to the growth of Hamas. Didn't an Israeli even shoot the former PM who negotiated with the PLO for such treachery?

Piratis is correct. If the Palestinians had equal strength in political and military terms you will find the Israelis the most obliging of negotiators. Why do you think they are hopping up and down about Iran having a nuclear weapon?

What utter nonsense , would you care to support your argument against my views with an example of a post of mine in which I .... DERAILED THE PEACE PROCESS !! What nonsense woman !
Neither you nor GR command even the slightest respect from a T/C who like it or not is also the rightful owner of this island .
My views might not be susceptible to the T/Cs but they are at least consistent and the overwhelming number on this forum sympathise with my views. Does any agree with yours O ? Not bloody likely !
All we hear from you is the perennial salvo of hatred and more hatred for anything Turkish. How on earth are we ever going to live with these people on this island in peace ? I know , we politely ask them , or force them to depart !!! Rubbish , they will not , anymore than the G/Cs will .
The T/Cs are the POWER that will force Turkey to withdraw its troops but not as long as loose cannons like you and GR are around. The damage that you two are doing to the Cyprus peace process is so colossal and yet you are so blind and can not see it. I bet if I was an agitator , as you are , you would love me to bits Madam..... have to give you another title soon .
As for GR , he is so engrossed with Hamas , Hezbolah , Al Qeada ideologies , USA bashing , he has completely lost the plot . I feel sorry for him I wish I could help him .

Miltiades, you and Bananiot I find the most reasonable and respectible GC on this forum. I also have a few others I know in life and mix with.
I have never come across anybody like GR,Oracle, Piratis and Bafitis, although I have no dought that even worst then them exists.
I firmly believe that we are in the majority in Cyprus and peace is coming. Our children are valueing their Cypriotness much more than we did when we were young. We will get there. News coming out of the talks is slow but there is progress.

Yes Fred we will for the sake of our future generations . I have two grandchildren living in Cyprus , I will give my life for them , I adore them but I also love and adore all little innocent Cypriot children and want them to avoid the pitfalls that we encountered. Our island is a wonderful beautiful island , our people are so hospitable and decent hard working family orientated who care deeply for their families and strive to do their best for them. My grandchildren mean the world to me just as the grandchildren of an old mate of mine Mehmed , he owns a restaurant /bar with his 3 sons in Streatham , the Bar One .
Mehmed and I met way back in 1974 , he came here with his young family having left Cyprus after the invasion. He is in his mid 70s , speaks fluent Greek .One evening while having a drink at the bar he opened his heart and told me of his experiences in 1963 , not one word of hatred he kept apologising for telling me such horrid things , he hated no one he said because the T/C extremists were just as bad as the G/C fanatics.
The whole story was told in fluent Greek without the slightest accent .
I dont go often to the Bar , as my wife is not well , but when I do I feel so humble that this guy along with his sons welcome me like a lost brother .
