Lovely Rain

The trouble with the recent heavy rainfall is that most people will see this as a sign to use and waste more water! Come the summer months they will be moaning that there is none!

The government should have cut off the water entirely last March (yes, it has been nearly a year since the imposed cuts!) and used water bowsers instead. I'll guarantee that those who ignored the water shortage and thought 'there is water in the tap - so there is no problem' would have rapidly changed their tune under that system!!

They blame it on leaky pipes! SO why don't they fix the bloody things then?

Instead of being happy about the rain the Government should do some action so the country doesn't depend too much of the rain. I am sure that the government is not even brainstorming about this and during the summer they will get in panick again because there is no water anymore.

Are there no other solutions to make water out of something or go abroad to see how they do it in other countries. Or is the money finished after spending so much money to transport water from Greece.

According to the CyBC news last night, dams are now at 16.6% of capacity. That is a bit better, but there are only a few rainy weeks left and it doesn't sound like enough to get us through the summer.

More rain/thunderstorms forecast for the next few day! The longer it rains the better - but I still doubt that there will be enough for the summer ahead! :(

If it is not enough for the summer I will have to go back to topping the pool up with recycled KEO. Swim anyone?
