Hmmm... Let's say at least half of the Cyprus born voters r descendents of settlers; 30.000 TC voters VS 130.000 "TC" voters.


Actually, the sums don't really work out in that Sabah article because there are about 185,000 voters in total anyhow.

Only 1 hour left for election to end !


Citizens of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are going to the polls today to elect new members of the 50-seat parliament.

7 political parties will contest the election. These are the Republican Turkish Party-United Forces, National Unity Party, Democrat Party, United Cyprus Party, Freedom and Reform Party and the Communal Democracy Party.

353 candidates – 8 of them independents – are running in the election.

161, 373 people are eligible to vote in the TRNC.

The polls opened at 8 o’clock this morning and will remain open until 6pm.

A total of 50 MPs will be elected from five districts.

According to the High Election Council’s announcement, the number of seats in each district will be as follows: 16 in Lefkoşa(Nicosia), 13 in Gazimağusa(Famagusta), 9 in Girne(Kyrenia), 6 in Güzelyurt(Morfu), 6 in İskele(Trikomo).

voting ended half a hour ago ..... it might come in a hour time from villages .... i must be get ready for work . We will do live transmission from 9 o'clock from saray Hotel area .Up to monday morning .

Apparently the UBP was walking around with black briefcases last night trying to bribe people for votes... :roll:

it might be five parties in TRNC parliment .

Eroğlu still on BRT1 ...... while u listen him u can see the percentages too .
