The "Wine" Thread

Postby umit07 » Fri Feb 20, 2009 2:20 pm

Hello everyone. Ever since moving back to OZ I have lost quite a lot of interest in the situation in Cyprus. I really don't know why, It could be that I have far more important personal affairs I have to deal with or the shear distance of being on the other side of the globe. Anyhow I couldn't care less ( for now ) . Tonight I decided to start getting used to drinking wine, I never liked the taste before. I'd usually drink quite a lot of scotch and beer. But the bottle of Red I've just halved is pretty good, now I get what Miltiades always talks about. Anyone got any suggestions for any good red wines?

Umit I fear you are going through a dreaded (premature) mid-life crisis.

What is with this gay abandon of the CyProb! And now drinking Ozzy wines?

WTF

Where does "gayness" come into the equation. I just don't feel like giving a shit at the moment. I look at Australia with a zillion different people of different nationalities living in harmony. Then I look a frekin Cyprus where we wanna cut each others throats. I don't get it!! P.S I am under the influence of Alcohol.

Hiya Umit, good to hear from you; hope all well your end.

I like Brown Bothers wines too :) Wolf Blass is also quite pleasant but avoid Hardy's - overrated and overpriced IMHO!

Do you get any Cypriot or South African wines where you are?
If so, try Tsiakkas (spelling?) or Two Oceans - both value for money and quite tasty too! :)
