I lived in Cyprus 6 years after independence, it wasn't the Cypriot man in the street who was the problem but as usual and everywhere where there is unrest it was the hardcore extremists.
I know for a fact that there was little or no problem in Limassol between GCs and TCs you didn't even know when you'd left the GC or TC quarter of Limassol where members of both communitys visted with each other.

If the Greek Junta had nor carried out the coup there would be no Turkish troops in Cyprus today occupying almost 40% of our lands.
The Junta in its actions was influenced by Americas support and the support of NATO that were vehemently opposed to the communists taking over in Greece.
The fact that the USA , NATO or whoever supported aggression by Turkey , or supported the Juntas plans to remove Makarios from power with whom they were at loggerheads is not as compelling as you and those who want to shift the blame away from the Greek Junta make out to be.
The primary aggressor was the Junta .

I state above that I am well aware of the blame that the Junta shares in all this, but you are just as bad as the extremists who try to defend the junta by shifting the blame onto America, but just at the opposite ends of the scale, by trying to deflect all criticism away from the US onto the junta. The truth is they are both very much to blame. But the junta were nationalist extremists, what is America's excuse?
